1.1. Random walk in random potential. Let S = (S(n))n∈N0 be a nearestneighbor random walk on the lattice Zd, with start at the origin and drift h into the direction of the first axis. We suppose S being defined on a probability space (Ω,F , Ph), and we denote by Eh the associated expectation. Such a random process is characterized by the distributions of its finite-step sub-paths S[n] def = S(0), . . . , S(n) , n ∈ N .

متن کاملLarge Deviations and Phase Transition for Random Walks in Random Nonnegative Potentials
We establish large deviation principles and phase transition results for both quenched and annealed settings of nearest-neighbor random walks with constant drift in random nonnegative potentials on Zd. We complement the analysis of Zerner (1996), where a shape theorem on the Lyapunov functions and a large deviation principle in absence of the drift are achieved for the quenched setting.

متن کاملA Note on the Ballistic Limit of Random Motion in a Random Potential
It has been shown that certain types of random walks in random potentials and Brownian motion in Poissonian potentials undergo a phase transition from sub-ballistic to ballistic behavior when the strength of the underlying drift is increased. The ballistic behavior has been manifested by indicating a limiting area for the normalized motion. In the present article, we provide a refined descripti...
متن کاملTowards a Swiss National Research Infrastructure
In this position paper, we describe the current status and plans for a Swiss National Research Infrastructure. Swiss academic and research institutions are very autonomous. While being loosely coupled, they do not rely on any centralized management entities. A coordinated national research infrastructure can only be established by federating the local resources of the individual institutions. W...
